Sometimes you need to cross mountains and lakes, walk day and night. There are times that you spend all of your energy for one portrait. But at the end of the day everything's worth it. Like that day at Pacanda's Island....

Paul Eason was one of my first clients in the US. At that time I was looking to create an “American portfolio”. I contacted local artist trough Myspace. That worked ok for me in that time, I made my American portfolio and since then the portrait of Paul is part of him. That was the story of Paul Eason…until now. Mid June I received an email from Paul, what a surprise!. After more than five years, it´s very nice when people who you´ve worked in the...

My first time at Copper Canyon was very different from this time. I knew this trip would be exhausting. After driving more than 36 hours I finally arrived to Arareko Lake, my home for the next days. The first night was very very cold, the weather channel showed rain and low temperatures for the next hours. That meant only one thing, snow. That day Fraile and I went out in the afternoon. We didn’t have a specific destination, I just knew we needed to arrive to a safe spot before night to set-up the tent. I love camping. I disconnect from everything and I connect with everything. In that moment the feeling of loneliness calms my demons....

Being an observer and a lead character is different. You notice this difference while you give the true value to things. When I started the series “The Shepherds”, I never imagined that I was getting involved with the characters of my stories...

We left the town at a good pace, our horses were rested, the wind blew more in open space, I saw in the face and hands which I could not protect because in one I had the rein and in the other my camera, there was nothing left to endure the intense cold. The road lasted for almost three hours, surrounded several hills to find a place that Carlos knew, - To that place tourists do not go because they are far away, only the Huichols when it is time for offerin...
